Anxiety describes a group of disorders that cause worry, nervousness, and fear. These feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, are out of proportion to the actual danger and can last a long time. Symptoms may start during childhood or the teen years and continue into adulthood. It often involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes.
Anxiety disorders are a group of related conditions rather than a single disorder, symptoms may vary from person to person. One individual may suffer from intense anxiety attacks that strike without warning, while another gets panicky at the thought of mingling at a party. Someone else may struggle with a disabling fear of driving, or uncontrollable, intrusive thoughts. Yet another may live in a constant state of tension, worrying about anything and everything.
Below is a list of some of the things you might find yourself doing to manage anxiety in situations, albeit not in a helpful way:

A standard way of treating anxiety is psychological counseling. The two main treatments for generalized anxiety disorder are psychotherapy and medications.
1.Psychotherapy- is treatment that involves talking with a trained mental health professional and working to the root of an anxiety disorder. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the most effective form of psychotherapy for anxiety disorders.
2.Medications- is designed to be taken on a short-term basis, while other medicines are prescribed for longer periods. Depending on your symptoms, you may need medicine to treat your physical symptoms, as well as your psychological ones.
